What came first… the ring or the egg?

Her Story (Long Version)

On April 3, 2010, the day before Easter. I was to spend the day baking with Laura, Mike’s sister. Mike sent me pics of plastic eggs all day. The same egg in different locations… in the car, a parking lot. He even stopped by his sister’s to dropped off a basket of plastic eggs. Of course, I went through them all… nothing, just jellybeans. He was up to something.

After dinner that evening he said he wanted to go home. I was confused, after a day of plastic eggs, he wanted to go home. So, we got in our cars to go home. He was to turn right and I was to turn left to sleep at my parents that night. But, he turned left to downtown Frankfort and he knew I would follow him.

As we got out of ours cars, I asked what we were doing here. Mike walked me to the Granary building. He said, “I think this was the spot.” Yes, it was… the spot we had our first kiss 17 years ago. He told me he loved me more than anything. Then before I knew it he was down on one knee with a ring in a purple plastic Easter egg, and asked me to marry him! I didn’t say anything at first, I just looked at him in shock as my heart stopped. He waited for my response as he said “no???”  I screamed and said “yes”, jumping! He put the ring on finger and kissed me.

At last… Now I’m engaged to a wonderful man and my best friend. It was the best day of my life!

Our save the date postcard (they never went out).

His Story (Short Version)

On April 3, 2010, the day before Easter. I filled some plastic eggs with candy and took a few photos, then filled a basket with a few eggs, nothing unusual here. It was the day before Easter, standard practice really.

So I met up with Tori for dinner later that night, business as usual, we then made a quick stop, there was a “What”, “Why”, a ring, a lot of silence, I think a dry heave or two, and finally a “YES”.
